Deadline for submissions February 28th
We have begun the process of setting up the 2019-2020 season for Olympia Little Theatre and are now soliciting play proposals from directors as well as taking suggestions from our patrons for plays that they would like to see. Plays submitted by directors will be given priority, however. Our plan is for 7 full productions this season, but we are also open to adding limited-run, one week “reader’s theater” productions (no set, props, costumes or blocking). And while we have been experimenting with doing new, original works by local playwrights, a previously published play has a much higher chance of being chosen.
We like to present a nice variety of plays from different genres, though our plays tend to tilt toward “the lighter side of life” (farces, comedies, family dramas, etc.). We are especially on the lookout for good plays for the December Holidays slot. This does not mean we won’t do other types of plays (such as a dark comedy or a political drama) but that the majority of the season should fit this profile (and language beyond mild profanity can be an issue).
If you have a play that you would like to see OLT do this coming up season, please email us the title and author. If you have a play that you are interested in directing for us, please download the Director Proposal Form from the OLT website (www.olympialittletheatre.org), found under the “Directors” tab, and send it to the Play Reading Committee (email email@example.com) or to the Artistic Director (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please don’t worry about submitting the perfect proposal, just tell us what you’d like to do.
